MEDICAL ONCOLOGY & INFUSION CENTERS - Las Vegas
This session will only be offered at Las Vegas CROWN Session
Early Registration Ends October 31st, 2012
This session will assist medical oncologists, oncology/hematologists and related specialties and staff who provide drug administration services in an office, freestanding infusion center or hospital with complete medical record documentation and accurate code assignment for drug administration and related services.
The speaker will discuss the guidelines to appropriately code procedures and services and the importance of supporting documentation. Charging for infusion services has been a focus of governmental investigation, including scrutiny of the codes and coding guidelines. Through the use of coding examples, participants will gain an understanding of initial services, sequential drug administration and the calculation of “each additional hour” infusion times. An overview of medical necessity issues, bone marrow procedures, vascular access codes, blood transfusions chemotherapy administration, pump initiation, therapeutic drug administration and more will be discussed in this fast-paced session.
This seminar is ideal for anyone involved in coding or responsible for charge capture in a cancer center, infusion center or hospital-based infusion therapy department. Each participant will receive a copy of CSI’s Comprehensive Navigator® for Medical Oncology, Hematology & Infusion Centers, a comprehensive reference manual.
