Cindy
C. Parman, CPC, CPC-H, RCC, is a principal and co-founder
of Coding Strategies, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. She is a frequent
speaker and author for many nationally recognized professional
organizations and publications. Cindy is currently the Chair
for SROA's Communications Committee. Cindy is a past President
of the Advisory Board for the American Academy of Professional
Coders (AAPC) and is a former faculty instructor for AMA Solutions,
a subsidiary of the American Medical Association.
Cindy
is a regular presenter at the national meetings for the American
Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), Society of Radiation
Oncology Administrators (SROA), Association of Freestanding
Radiation Oncology Centers (AFROC), Pennsylvania Oncology Hematology
Managers’ Society (POHMS), Georgia Society of Clinical
Oncology (GASCO) and the Southeastern Association of Therapeutic
Radiation Oncologists (SATRO).
Cindy
serves as the Consulting Editor of Oncology Coding Alert, and
she authors the coding column for the Journal of Oncology Management
and ACOA’s Coding Minute. Her areas of expertise include
physician and hospital medical coding, and multi-specialty coding
audits. Cindy has authored CSI's Coding Guide for Radiation
Oncology, Coding Guide for Medical Oncology and Coding Guide
for Advanced Radiation Oncology Auditing. She has co-authored
CSI's Coding Guide for Diagnostic Radiology, Coding Guide for
Comprehensive Cardiology and Coding Guide for Interventional
Radiology. She is a highly sought after national speaker on
a variety of coding and compliance topics including Radiation
Oncology Coding, Medical Oncology Coding, Infusions and Injections,
Non-Physician Practitioners, Internal Auditing, Managed Care
Contracting, Data Mining Evaluation & Management Coding,
ICD-10-CM and Medical Necessity.
Her
33-year professional career in healthcare includes 20 years
of commercial group health insurance experience, where she managed
claims processing, customer service, and worked as a Health
Care Consultant. Cindy was also the former National Director
of Coding & Billing Operations for a large national physician
practice management organization. Her professional memberships
include the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC),
National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), American Association
of Medical Administrators (AAMA) and the Society of Radiation
Oncology Administrators (SROA). Cindy holds a Bachelor in Business
Administration from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. She
also holds the professional certifications of Certified Professional
Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder - Hospital (CPC-H)
and Radiology Certified Coder (RCC).
